Here are some of Patty Limerick's photos from her recent road trip out west.

Also I have some images here from a visit to the Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization center in Southeast Portland, where I got to see first hand the growing definition of trans nationalism in the American west, and ways in which modern immigration demographics continue to shape the western region.

Then I took a road trip between Salt Lake City along the concrete arrows developed in the 1920’s to provide visual navigational aids for for the planes flying the mail route. These arrows are a great example of the ways in which white settlement in the west have shaped the rural landscape in ways not typically discussed among historians.
